Pyruvic acid

A chemical compound belonging to the group of α-ketoacids. It penetrates deep into the epidermis and into the glands of the sebaceous gland. It works by facilitating exfoliation of dead epidermal cells and inhibiting excessive keratinization, which contributes to deep cleansing of the skin. It also supports the care properties of salicylic acid. Thanks to these features, it reduces the number of comedones and skin imperfections.
